This lesson plan was designed for 7th grade and introduces students to various ancient forms of writing. Students
receive copies of three ancient forms of writing (Hieroglyphics, Cuneiform, and the Phoenician Alphabet) and are required
to write using one alphabet. After they complete this part of the assignment, they will exchange papers with another
student and will translate each other's work into another ancient alphabet. Once this is done, students will
receive their original paper to decode back into the Roman alphabet.
