“Education's purpose is to replace an empty mind with
an open one.” This simple, yet strikingly true quote from Malcolm S. Forbes
best describes my motivation and reasons for choosing to be a teacher. Not only
do I believe that it is important to present students with factual information, but also to aid their growth as people. By using education to open the mind, teachers not only facilitate factual learning,
but also an understanding and tolerance of the world around them.
